The Burren works in layers — you can read the weather in the terracing, each band a different age of stone. This is one of the larger Rockscapes, built up slowly with the palette knife until the surface had almost as much texture as the hillside itself.
Cold wax and oil on canvas board. Framed size 67.7 × 50.2cm.
